Bev Priestman kicked from Canada women’s soccer team as head coach for good

Bev Priestman is out as coach of the Canadian women’s soccer team following an independent report into the Olympic drone-spying scandal.

Canada Soccer says assistant coach Jasmine Mander and analyst Joseph Lombardi also will not be returning to the organization. All three were suspended for one year by FIFA over the illegal use of a drone to film New Zealand in training before a game at the Paris Olympics.

“The three individuals currently suspended by FIFA will not be returning,” Canada Soccer said in a news release. “The search for a new head coach for the women’s national team will commence shortly.”

Both Priestman and Mander were being payed while awaiting the results of the review. John Herman, the former coach still has to give some evidence since Canada Soccer said that they found potential violations of their Code of Conduct and Ethics
