Canada-wide warrant issued for suspect in Mission Road rage assault

A Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for Amber Jenelle Toews, 35, of Edmonton, who faces charges stemming from a road rage incident in Mission, B.C., that that left two young adults seriously injured back in September. Toews has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and mischief under $5,000.

Mission RCMP have been coordinating with Alberta law enforcement to locate her, who is known to travel throughout British Columbia and other western provinces. Authorities have not confirmed her current location.

Meanwhile, investigators have identified the male suspect in the incident as 38-year-old Johnathan Hebrada-Walters, also from Edmonton. He was found deceased in Langley on September 21, in what the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team believes to be a homicide connected to the ongoing B.C. gang conflict. Police confirm there is no link between the road rage incident and Hebrada-Walters’ death.

If you see Amber Toews, call 911 and do not approach her. If you have information that could help to locate her, please call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161, or your local police. Mission RCMP file 24-10852.
