BC Lions’ Ryan Rigmaiden declines GM interview with Edmonton Elks

BC Lions director of U.S. scouting and assistant general manager Ryan Rigmaiden has turned down an interview opportunity for the Edmonton Elks’ vacant general manager position, opting to remain with the Lions.

The Lions even granted the Elks permission to speak to him about it but he declined… saying that he has a commitment to B.C., who brought him back to the Lions after he won a Grey Cup with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as their director of college scouting

The Elks, who had a tough start to the season with 0-5, fired their head coach and general manager Chris Jones and  appointed Jarious Jackson as interim head coach, with Geroy Simon filling in as interim general manager.

Chris Morris, the Elks’ president has set a deadline of November 24 for hiring a new GM. He is set to interview up to 6new candidates, including the Ticats’ current general manager, Ed Hervey
