NYE Countdown Festival and Fireworks

Free festival at Sir Winston Churchill Square and City Hall Plaza from 6 p.m. till midnight in the heart of Edmonton this New Years Eve!

Enjoy a magical night of live music, cultural performances, fire twirlers, skating, food trucks, art, and gorgeous fireworks. All of these activities except the food are absolutely free including skate rentals!

These events all start at 6 p.m. except the fireworks that start at both 8 p.m. and midnight. There will also be a screening of the absolute classic film, The Princess Bride, at the Stanley A. Milner Library at 2:30.

If you’re unable to get out to see the fireworks, they will be streamed live on CBC!

Edmonton’s ICE District is also holding an event starting at 6 p.m. with a pre-game tailgate party and an Oilers watch party at 7. This event will be completely free but space is limited.

The City Hall Parkade will be closed at 4 p.m. but parking will be available in the Canada Place Parkade for $5/hour. There will also be free transit starting at 6 p.m. and ending around 3 a.m. the following morning.

Almost all of these events are held outside so be sure to dress for the weather!
