Freezing rain warning in effect

Freezing rain has developed in the Edmonton area and will move to the east early this morning bringing very slippery conditions. The freezing rain will move out of the Edmonton area later this morning and may continue towards the Saskatchewan border.  Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.  Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.

Once the freezing rain makes its exit, expect a high of zero Saturday afternoon.  Overnight we’ll see some fog patches and a low of -12.  All of next week calls for highs above freezing and lows in the upper- to mid- minus single digits.
