Skilled Trades and Career Event at Dow this month

Thursday, January 30th the Inaugural Industrial Heartland Career Forum (IHCF) is being held in Fort Saskatchewan.

This free event’s goal is to showcase different career opportunities in the trades. Whether you’re a student trying to find a job that’s best suited to you, or you are looking for some experience and excitement, this event is guaranteed to teach you something brand new about Alberta’s workforce.

There are two different sessions. The first is the Student Session from noon till 2:30 p.m. It will introduce grade 11 and 12 students to the vast opportunities of careers in the trades. They will be able to meet with people in post secondary, and have the chance to speak with seasoned professionals in various fields.

The second is the Re-Skill Session from 4:30 till 7:00. This session is for professionals that are looking to enhance their skills or careers. It will provide information on new industry trends, career transition strategies, and skill development.

Both sessions will include resources, guest speakers, and networking opportunities. Although the event is free, you do need to register ahead.
