Albertans are encouraged to nominate the most outstanding citizens that have made significant and long-lasting contributions to their communities. 220 Albertans have been invested into the Alberta Order of Excellence since it was established in 1979. Year-round nominations are accepted, but must be submitted by February 15th to be considered for this year. All nominees must be citizens of Canada and currently living in Alberta. The citizen selected must attend the investiture ceremony. Citizens are unable to nominate themselves, a partner, or immediate family members.
