Due to a lack of funding, this well-known animal shelter is closing its doors on March 28th of this year. From now until they close, the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS) is allowing for animals to be adopted, but won’t take any more animals in. All animals left will be transported to the original Calgary location. “We will continue to work with AARCS through their Calgary shelter to help find loving families for the animals that come to us through our welfare investigations.” Said the Alberta Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) “We still want to help out… it very well could leave a hole for awhile and we hope that some of the organizations in Edmonton will be able to help.” Added Deanna Thompson, the executive director of AARCS.
