The Oilers are celebrating the Lunar New Year on Thursday with special jerseys and performances

This Thursday the Oilers face the Detroit Red Wings at Roger’s Place. To celebrate the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Snake, limited-edition jerseys designed by award-winning Emily Chu will be sold at Roger’s and online. A portion of the proceeds will go to an Edmonton Chinatown vibrancy group called Re:Vita.

There will also be cultural performances including Dragon Dance by the Chiu Lau Kung Fu College and community kiosks to welcome the Lunar New Year. Tickets are still available for this historic game!

The Oilers are hosting more cultural celebration games soon such as the Oilers Celebrating Black Excellence game on Feb. 7 and the Oilers South Asian Celebration night on March 4.
