47-year-old Sherwood Park resident, Jeffrey Ryan Thompson has been charged with possession and distribution of child pornography. Strathcona County’s RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) received a tip about Thompson which led to an investigation. On Jan. 23 the police executed a search warrant and arrested him. He received one count of possession of child pornography and one count of distribution of child pornography.
He has been released on a release order with conditions after appearing before a Justice of the Peace. He will appear in the Sherwood Park provincial court on Feb. 19, 2025.
