Yesterday around 11:30 a.m., the Morinville RCMP received a report of a collision on Highway 2 near Township Road 580. It is believed that due to bad road conditions, one pick up truck lost control and wound up in oncoming traffic, being hit by another pick up truck. The lone passenger of one of the trucks, 73-year-old female Sturgeon County resident unfortunately didn’t make it. The passenger of the other truck, 83-year-old female Rochester resident also unfortunately didn’t make it. The driver of that truck was taken to the hospital to receive care for non life-threatening injuries.
The RCMP stayed on the scene for several hours, investigating the accident. They have since cleared out and traffic flow has returned to normal.
