Strathcona County RCMP has a new Superintendent

Barry LaRocque has been in the police force for the last 32 years. Other than a three-year spell in the Northwest Territories, he has dedicated his time and care serving Alberta. He is moving up from his position of Detachment Commander in Fort Saskatchewan to become the new Superintendent of the Strathcona RCMP. The former Supt. Dale Kendall has been promoted to District Officer within the RCMP’s Central Alberta District.

LaRocque is excited to bring sound decision making and quality investigations to his new role. Mayor Rod Frank congratulated LaRocque on his promotion and expressed his admiration for him and all he’s accomplished. “On behalf of Strathcona County, I’m honoured to welcome Superintendent Barry LaRocque to our community. The county’s strong partnership with the RCMP has been key to enhancing safety, and with Supt. LaRocque’s experience and leadership, we look forward to upholding our thriving and safe community for all.”

The new Superintendent begins his role in the last week of February.
