Earlier this month on Feb. 6, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP received a report around 2:00 a.m. of a man breaking and entering into an oil lease site on Range Road 181 north of Highway 16. A vehicle was caught on surveillance cams parking at the gate entrance to the property and an unknown man was walking around the site.
The property rep contacted the police and kept them updated the entire time the breaking and entering was happening, providing footage. The 52-year-old Yellowhead County resident was arrested and charged for breaking and entering, mischief, and possession of stolen property. A search of his car retrieved cooper wire from the oil lease site.
