33-year-old Edmonton resident charged with drug possession and firearm use

33-year-old Edmonton resident Jose Dobney-Cooper was arrested after a search through his home in Carlisle Edmonton. The search warrant recovered the following:

  • Over 2.4 kilograms of cocaine 
  • 895 grams of meth
  • 855 grams of buffing agent 
  • Over $30,000
  • Tools often used for drug trafficking 
  • Three handguns, all of which were loaded at the time of their seizure, two of which had defaced serial numbers, and one that was reported stolen 
  • Multiple illegal magazines 
  • Around 400 rounds of ammunition

Dobney-Cooper has been charged with the following:

  • Trafficking a controlled substance (x3)
  • Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000 (x3)
  • Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000
  • Six counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm (x2)
  • Possession of a loaded firearm
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Tampering with a firearm serial number (x2)
  • Resist arrest

Dobney-Cooper has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday at the Alberta Court of Justice in Edmonton.
