RCMP are still on the hunt for 3 men responsible for setting a Morinville church ablaze

On June 30, 2021 the St. Jean Baptiste Church in Morinville was set on fire around 3:30 a.m. The building was entirely engulfed in flames causing irreparable damage and forcing nearby homes and a senior centre to evacuate. There are three suspects that were acting suspiciously earlier that evening. Police believe they are tied to the arson and are looking for three men that match the following description:

  • Medium complexion
  • Two had long black hair, third was wearing a ball cap
  • The three were last seen leaving the scene in an early 90’s GMC or Chevrolet pick up with a loud muffler

The fire destroyed a significant landmark in Morinville. The local RCMP are passionate about catching the perpetrators and are reaching out to the public for any information. If you or someone you know has any information on the fire or suspects, please contact the Morinville RCMP at 780-939-6100
