Public Engagement Sessions regarding the healthcare system are happening all over the province

The Alberta government is asking for feedback regarding the changes being made to the public healthcare system. There are 65 public engagement sessions across Alberta where citizens can discuss their thoughts and feelings about the Alberta healthcare system. The Minister of Health, Adriana LaGrange wasn’t able to attend every meeting, but she did address the public in a video saying how the province is committed to improving the healthcare system as a new unified model is introduced.

Since the sessions last year, new changes under the Health Statutes Amendment Act, 2024, formerly Bill 22, included the creation of Recovery Alberta in July of last year, Primary Care Alberta in November last year, and Acute Care Alberta which was established this month. A few months away in April, Assisted Living Alberta will be legally established. The four new provincial health agencies will play a role in the four pillars of care which include acute care, continuing care, mental health and addictions, and primary care.

There will be a public engagement session in Sherwood Park on March 25 from 4 p.m. till 6 p.m. please register for free if you’re planning on attending!
