Multiple school boards have bus cancellations today as a result of the extreme cold.
Elk Island Public Schools has cancelled bus service in many areas of the Division—including rural Strathcona County, Fort Saskatchewan, and all areas of Lamont County because of the extreme cold temperatures for the morning of Tuesday, February 18.
Buses will run in urban Sherwood Park this morning.
Schools remain open and classes will continue as scheduled.
Afternoon buses are expected to run as the temperatures are forecasted to rise above the -40 C threshold.
Elk Island Catholic Schools buses are canceled for the morning in:
- Fort Saskatchewan
- Rural Strathcona County (Holy Redeemer and St. Luke Catholic schools)
School bus services remain available in:
- Sherwood Park
