Winterfest 2025: A Cool Celebration of Community in Sturgeon County

Sturgeon County is inviting all to Winterfest 2025, a fun-filled, family-friendly celebration of all things winter. Taking place on Saturday, February 22, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sturgeon Agriplex, this free event offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities designed to showcase the charm of country living.

Families can enjoy classic winter fun, from horse-drawn hayrides to the Cardiff Park Skating Trail (bring your skates!) and toasty bonfires with s’mores kits. There’s also a petting zoo, pony rides, and maple syrup sticks for those looking to indulge in winter’s simple pleasures.

Want to get active? Try your hand at snowshoeing or learn about Alberta wildlife from local experts. Sturgeon County Protective Services will even be on-site for an ice rescue demonstration.

Inside the Agriplex, kids can decorate cookies, colour, and snap photos with Elsa and Olaf, while parents warm up with free hot dogs, chili, and hot chocolate—available while supplies last.

With Instagrammable backdrops and a strong sense of community spirit, Winterfest is the perfect way to embrace the season. Parking is available at the Sturgeon Agriplex, with overflow at Cardiff Park.

Bundle up, bring your skates, and join Sturgeon County for a winter celebration that’s sure to warm hearts—even in the cold!
