Westbound Sherwood Park Freeway Mess

The morning commute on the Sherwood Park Freeway is a disaster thanks to an over-height load striking the overpass at 34 Street.

Logging equipment being transported by a semi along the Sherwood Park Freeway struck the underside of the bridge causing extensive damage.

34 Street is closed in both directions. Westbound Sherwood Park Freeway traffic is being diverted around the crash via the offramp. Eastbound lanes are not impacted.

The structural integrity of the overpass will need to be inspected and repairs conducted prior to reopening.
