On March 14, 2024, Fort Saskatchewan RCMP received a call about a mental health issue at a residence in Fort Saskatchewan. Upon arrival, officers located a suicidal woman and arrested her under the Mental Health Act.
An altercation occurred and the officer hit the prisoner, who was taken to hospital for treatment and evaluation.
On May 2, 2024, the alleged victim filed a complaint with the RCMP. The RCMP investigated and on February 25, 2025, the RCMP charged Constable Justin Forster with assault causing bodily harm.
Constable Forster has a first appearance date of April 3, 2025 in the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Saskatchewan. Forster has been assigned to administrative duties since his arrest.
