The City of Fort Saskatchewan has launched an upgraded version of FortReport, its online service request platform, improving how residents report issues and receive updates on concerns ranging from potholes to graffiti.
While the portal maintains a familiar design, the latest enhancements significantly improve how service requests are tracked and managed. The upgraded system now connects directly to the City’s asset management platform, streamlining workflows and ensuring quicker response times.
“We kept the system’s look and functionality similar to ensure minimal disruption for users,” said Stuart Gerber, the City’s Asset Management Lead. “But behind the scenes, it helps us better manage City assets, streamline internal workflows, and reduce system costs.”
One key improvement is enhanced communication. Residents submitting requests now receive tracking numbers and more transparent updates as their concerns are processed. The platform also allows users to upload photos, provide detailed location descriptions, and attach files to clarify reported issues.
The City encourages residents to use FortReport for non-emergency concerns by visiting fortsask.ca/FortReport. However, officials remind the public that emergencies should still be reported via 9-1-1.
