Strathcona County is calling on residents to help shape the future. As part of its planning process for the 2027–2030 Strategic Plan, the County is inviting community members to share what matters most to them.
“The Strategic Plan is Strathcona County’s map that plots our journey to becoming Canada’s most livable community,” says Jennifer Cannon, Associate Commissioner of Corporate Services. “Our community’s needs grow and change every year, shaping Strathcona County’s projects, programs, and services.”
The Strategic Plan is built around four long-standing goals: economic prosperity, a healthy and safe community, responsible development, and municipal excellence. While these goals will remain unchanged, the County is reviewing the specific priorities and actions that support them—based heavily on resident and Council input.
Throughout summer and fall 2025, the County will engage with the public and Council to gather feedback. This information will guide updates to the Strategic Plan’s priorities, ensuring they reflect the evolving needs and aspirations of the community.
Updated priorities will be shared in early 2026. The final Strategic Plan for 2027–2030 is expected to be approved and released in December 2026.
Residents are encouraged to complete a survey by April 29, 2025. The feedback received will directly influence where the County focuses its efforts over the next four years.
