RCMP Hosts Community Event to Mark National Police Week in Strathcona County

Strathcona County residents are invited to connect with local first responders during a special event celebrating National Police Week. The “Committed to Serve Together” event, hosted by the Strathcona County RCMP in collaboration with Enforcement Services, Emergency Services, and several community safety groups, will take place Tuesday, May 13, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Strathcona County Library’s Readmore Hall.

The family-friendly gathering offers a chance for the public to meet RCMP officers and partner organizations including Citizens on Patrol, Strathcona County Crime Watch, and Victim Services. Attendees will learn about the daily efforts these teams make to build safer communities.

“This event is a unique opportunity for community members of all ages to learn first-hand more about the work we do every day in Strathcona County to keep Albertans safe,” said Constable Cheri-Lee Smith of RCMP Community Policing.

Organizers say the event is designed to promote transparency, foster trust, and encourage public involvement in community safety. Activities and displays will be geared toward all ages, with a focus on engagement and education.

The event underscores the theme of National Police Week by emphasizing collaboration between law enforcement, emergency services, and the public. Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.
