Police Seek Help Identifying Suspects in West Edmonton Garage Thefts

The Edmonton Police Service are asking for the public’s help in identifying a group of suspects linked to a string of garage break-ins in the Westmount and 124 Street neighbourhoods.

Between April 3 and May 9, police received reports of 12 incidents, all occurring in the early morning hours between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Investigators say the suspects typically access garages through back alleys, often arriving on bicycles and stealing items they can easily carry or ride away with.

The group usually includes two to three males of average height and build, and one female suspect, described as Indigenous, heavy set, with brown hair and glasses. A photo of the suspects has been released by police in hopes of identifying them.

“We’re encouraging residents—especially those in west Edmonton with alley-access garages—to take steps that can help reduce the risk of property crime,” said Constable Carrie Bosse with the Edmonton Police Service’s West Division. She advised homeowners to install alarms on garage doors, use strong locks on side entrances, and add motion-activated lights or security cameras.

Police are also urging residents to document serial numbers for valuables, which can help track and recover stolen items.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about the break-ins is asked to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.

The police are continuing their investigation and are hoping the community’s vigilance and cooperation will help bring the suspects to justice.
