St. Albert sends firefighting assistance to Slave Lake

St. Albert Fire Department has sent two individuals and a water tanker truck up to Slave Lake to help with the wildfires in the area.

A request was made by the Government of Alberta’s Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) on June 1, with a lieutenant, firefighter and a tactical water tanker leaving the morning after on a seven-day rotation.

Slave Lake has been battling wildfires that have shut down multiple highways in the Slave Lake Forest Area. For wildfire updates, visit the Alberta Emergency Alerts website.
