Police Investigate Suspicious Death After Southeast Edmonton Shooting

Edmonton police are investigating a suspicious death following a shooting in the city’s southeast early Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to a call around 12:38 a.m. on June 4 about a shooting at a home near 16 Avenue and 65 Street. A 41-year-old man was found with injuries at the scene. Despite efforts from paramedics, he was pronounced dead on site.

The case has been handed over to the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Homicide Section. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, June 5.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident—or anyone who may have dashcam or security footage from the area between 11 p.m. on June 3 and 2 a.m. on June 4—to come forward.
