Strathcona County’s Food Bank is hosting a food drive to collect donations for those in need in the community.
The drive, which is being collected at most major grocery stores in Sherwood Park, is running all day on June 21.
Advertisements have popped up around Sherwood Park in the past few days reminding individuals of the importance of the Food Bank.
The Strathcona Food Bank is an essential service in Strathcona County. In 2024, there were almost 8,000 hampers distributed to those in need in the community. The Food Bank served over 14,500 adults and close to 10,000 teens and children.
Those who wish to donate can do so on the Food Bank’s website. Donations of $25 or more can be issued a charitable tax receipt on request. Tax receipts can also be issued on donated items if a receipt is provided showing the cost of the items combines to $25 or more.
This is the 42nd year that the Strathcona Food Bank has been active for.
