St. Albert RCMP investigate jewelry store theft

St. Albert RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying five individuals who were involved in a jewelry store robbery in April.

On April 1 between 6:10 and 6:30 p.m., three suspects entered the store and distracted the employees. Then two more suspects entered and stole items from the safe. All five suspects left the store separately as to not seem suspicious.

The theft was not discovered until later that evening.

The suspects got away with numerous diamond and gemstone rings, gold chains, watches and cash.

Thefts of this nature, labeled “distraction thefts” by the RCMP, are common across Canada, and that jewelry store thefts are becoming more and more common.

All five suspects are described as males in their 30’s and 40’s. They all have a medium to large build and a medium complexion.

Suspect one is wearing what appears to be a dark zip-up hoodie. He has dark hair and a trimmed beard.

Suspect two (left) is wearing a light hoodie and has dark hair and some facial hair. Suspect three (right) is wearing a light blue button up shirt and a dark men’s ascot hat, which is hiding his hair.

Suspect four is wearing a dark baseball cap which appears to have some sort of “C” design on it. He’s wearing a green t-shirt and a glossy black puffer jacket. He has a trimmed beard.

Suspect four is wearing a dark cap and a face mask. He is also wearing a dark jacket.

Anyone with information regarding the theft or the identities of the suspects is asked to call St. Albert RCMP at 780-458-7700. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.P3Tips.com.
