Police investigating fatal solo motorcycle accident

Edmonton Police Service (EPS) are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that took place in Southeast Edmonton over the weekend.

On June 22 at about 1:40 a.m., EPS received a call of a crashed motorcycle traveling on Mill Woods Road south at 49A Street.

The 19-year-old male driver of a 2004 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle lost control of his bike and struck the curb and then a tree.

Edmonton Medical Services (EMS) and EPS responded to the scene where the driver was treated and transported to the hospital.

The driver later succumbed to his injuries.

The EPS Major Collision Investigation Section (MCIS) is investigating the crash. Speed is believed to be a factor.
