Strathcona County RCMP have arrested a daycare worker for five counts of assault.
The RCMP had received a complaint of an assault which allegedly happened at the Emerald Park Daycare in Sherwood Park. Strathcona County’s General Investigative Section (GIS) led the investigation.
They found that five victims between the ages of five and eight had been allegedly assaulted.
The assaults occurred between March 17 and April 3. No serious injuries were reported and no medical attention was required as a result of the incidents.
21-year-old Edmonton Resident Navam Sharma has been charged with five counts of assault. She was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Sherwood Park on July 9.
