Government of Alberta to invest millions to help small- and medium-sized businesses grow

The Government of Alberta has announced that it will be providing $2.8 million to help small- and medium-sized businesses grow into national and international markets.

The program is called the Trade Accelerator Program (TAP) and allows business owners to increase their exports and revenue, while also creating local jobs for Albertans.

Since its creation in 2017, TAP has helped more than 550 companies across Alberta receive knowledge, mentorship and resources.

The 2.8-million-dollar investment will help support TAP for another five years and 650 companies.

“Increasing trade is a priority for our government, which is why we are helping small- and medium-sized businesses grow,” stated Joseph Schow, Minster of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration. “More than ever, we need to diversify our global trade and give businesses the tools they need to succeed.”

The next TAP cohort taking place in Edmonton runs from November 4 through December 10. The sessions are open to any Alberta-based company or business.
