UPDATE–Traffic Advisory: 51 Avenue Closed After Train-Pedestrian Collision

Updated June 26, 2025, 9:55am: EPS inform that 51 Avenue has reopened, and the investigation continues. There is no word on the condition of the pedestrian involved in the incident.

The Edmonton Police Service is advising motorists to avoid 51 Avenue NW between 99 Street and Gateway Boulevard due to a collision involving a train and a pedestrian.

Both eastbound and westbound lanes of 51 Avenue are currently closed as police investigate the incident. Drivers are urged to take alternate routes and expect delays in the area.

There is no information available yet regarding any injuries. Emergency crews remain on scene, and the road closure will stay in effect until further notice.
