Fox Lake RCMP conducted a traffic stop on June 18 at approximately 8:45 a.m. due to the a plate mismatch. During the stop, the vehicle was found to be operating without proper insurance or registration. The driver didn’t have a valid driver’s licence and the plate belonged to a deceased individual.
The vehicle was seized and searched. During the search, two large duffle bags were found which contained 124 unopened bottles of Red Tassel vodka. The driver of the vehicle was issued three tickets under the traffic safety act.
The investigation into the large amount of alcohol is ongoing. The street value of all of the alcohol discovered in the vehicle reaches almost $10,000.
“Fox Lake remains committed to addressing the harmful impacts alcohol can have on the wellbeing and safety of our community” said Cpl. Michael Heysa of the Fox Lake RCMP. “The seizure reflects our ongoing efforts to support a safer and healthier environment for all residents”.
In addition to the Red Tassel vodka, there was also a bottle of Smirnoff vodka, two baseball bats, and shotgun shells located in the vehicle.
