Fort Sask. Canada Day festival breaks records

This year’s Canada Day Festival in Fort Saskatchewan was special for many reasons, not only celebrating the 158th anniversary of Canada’s independence, but also celebrating the 150-year anniversary of the establishment of Fort Saskatchewan and 40 years since the community became a city.

The estimated attendance of the free pancake breakfast, parade and festival in Legacy Park totals to 18,000 people, making it the largest turnout that the city of Fort Saskatchewan has ever seen for a Canada Day celebration.

The pancake breakfast served 3,200 meals, with Legacy Park seeing almost 7,000 people enjoying the games, food, inflatables and music performances from many incredible artists.
