On August 13, 2024 Strathcona County RCMP responded to a collision involving two pedestrians on Georgian Way in Sherwood Park.
According to the investigation, a vehicle travelling north on Georgian Way collided with two pedestrians and a dog on the sidewalk. The vehicle then stopped on a residential lawn.
A 36-year-old male and an 11-month-old child were transported to hospital with serious injuries, while the dog received minor injuries and was taken to the vet. The male driver of the vehicle was not injured.
RCMP do not believe that speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.
As a result of the investigation, the RCMP have charged 67-year-old Sherwood Park resident Ronald Charles Wilkinson with two counts of dangerous operation of motor vehicle causing bodily harm and two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
Wilkinson is scheduled to appear in court on August 6, 2025.
