Fort Saskatchewan has announced a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of the new 9-hole disc golf course at West River’s Edge.
The ceremony takes place on Wednesday, July 16 from 1:30 to 2 p.m., with a “try disc golf” activity happening shortly afterwards, with no experience or equipment needed.
“This new course adds another great way for residents and visitors to get outside and enjoy everything Fort Saskatchewan has to offer,” said Mayor Gale Katchur. “We’re proud to keep expanding our recreational spaces, and we hope the course will encourage people of all ages to stay active and explore our beautiful river valley.”
More details regarding a Course Breaker event will be shared soon as a fun way to introduce the course.
The new course is located at 1875 River Valley Drive in Fort Saskatchewan.
The course will also be integrated into a UDisc app, allowing players to keep track of score, view an interactive map and use GPS for navigation.
Fort Saskatchewan has a page on their website where interested individuals can download the app, learn more about what disc golf is and view a map of the course.
