The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) have released a digitally altered version of a photograph of a woman who was found deceased in west Edmonton in June of this year.
Police were called to a report of a deceased woman located in the area of 121 Avenue and 157 Street. Police do not believe the death to be suspicious in nature.
The woman is described as being 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet and 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 210 pounds. She has hazel eyes and light-medium brown hair.
At the time of location, she was wearing black flared capris-length leggings with a yellow tank top and a purple hooded sweater overtop.
The EPS say that they have used all of the traditional identification methods with no results, and as such, have been unable to identify the woman. The EPS’ Missing Persons Unit has conducted consultation with the office of the Chief Medical Examiner, then used the Digital Forensics Section to enhance a photo of the deceased woman to attempt to identify her.
“It’s the hope of the Missing Persons Unit that this image enhancement will help us identify this woman so we can bring a matter of resolution to her friends or family,” says Cst. Josh Filion with the EPS’ Missing Person Unit. “It is our hope that this tool and approach will allow members of the public to assist us with identifying this woman so we can contact her loved ones promptly.”
