Oilers add 3 new hires to coaching staff

The Edmonton Oilers have added three new members to their coaching staff for the 2025-26 season.

Paul McFarland is joining Edmonton after taking up the head coaching roll for the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League. His most recent NHL coaching experience was for the Seattle Kraken from the 2021 season through to 2024.

Peter Aubry is entering the coaching staff as a goaltending coach after two seasons as an associate coach at the NCAA’s Nebraska-Omaha. Aubry also spent eight seasons as the developmental goaltending coach for the Chicago Blackhawks as well as the goaltending coach for the teams AHL affiliate in Rockford.

Conor Allen is joining the team as the new skills coach. Allen spent last season with the U.S. National U17 team and has also worked in a skill development roll with the Sioux City Musketeers in the United States Hockey League.

In addition, Paul Coffey will return to his role as special advisor to ownership and hockey operations. Contact extensions have also been confirmed for assistant coach Mark Stuart and video coach Noah Segall. A contact extension was not offered to now former goaltending coach Dustin Schwartz.
