Stingers take down Scarborough to make it 6 wins in a row

The Edmonton Stingers have continued their winning streak with their first road game since their win against the Calgary Surge in Red Deer almost a month ago.

The Stingers took on the Scarborough Shooting Stars on Friday night, with Edmonton taking the victory in a 75-81 game.

This puts Edmonton as the third ranked team in the Western conference with a 10-6 record, despite a slow start to the season, taking three losses in the clubs first four games.

Edmonton is down half a game to provincial rivals Calgary Surge, who currently stand at a 10-5 record. The Stingers are down 2.5 games to conference leaders Vancouver Bandits.

Forward Nick Hornsby lit the court up, scoring 16 points in his almost 32 minutes on the floor. He also pulled down 15 rebounds over the course of the game.

Keon Ambrose- Hylton also managed 16 points and 9 rebounds in 29 minutes.

Sean East II seems to have had an off game, scoring just 14 points and 2 assists compared to his season averages of 24.4 and 5.2 in each category. East II didn’t have a single 3-point shot fall all game, despite putting up 6 shots from beyond the arc.

The team shot a miserable 17 per cent from deep, only making 5 of the 28 three-point attempts thrown up over the course of the game, with Scottie Lindsey throwing up almost a third of the attempts, going 1-9 in his 24 minutes.

The Scarborough Shooting Stars were led in scoring by Forward Anthony Walker who put up 19 points on 63 per cent shooting.

The Stingers will look to continue their winning streak as their road trip continues, with the next game being against the Ottawa Blackjacks on Thursday.
