33-year-old Edmonton resident Jose Dobney-Cooper was arrested after a search through his home in Carlisle Edmonton. The search warrant recovered the following:
- Over 2.4 kilograms of cocaine
- 895 grams of meth
- 855 grams of buffing agent
- Over $30,000
- Tools often used for drug trafficking
- Three handguns, all of which were loaded at the time of their seizure, two of which had defaced serial numbers, and one that was reported stolen
- Multiple illegal magazines
- Around 400 rounds of ammunition
Dobney-Cooper has been charged with the following:
- Trafficking a controlled substance (x3)
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of proceeds of crime under $5000 (x3)
- Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000
- Six counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Careless use of a firearm (x2)
- Possession of a loaded firearm
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Tampering with a firearm serial number (x2)
- Resist arrest
Dobney-Cooper has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday at the Alberta Court of Justice in Edmonton.
