Edmonton Man Arrested for Stealing Sports Cards in St. Albert

An 18-year-old Edmonton man has been arrested by St. Albert RCMP for multiple thefts from Walmart in St. Albert. On January 18, 2025, at approximately 10:35 a.m., police received a report of a theft in progress. The suspect was seen stuffing multiple boxes of sports trading cards into his backpack and leaving the store without paying.

Surveillance footage revealed the same man had stolen sports trading cards on two other occasions earlier in the week. When RCMP officers arrived at the scene, the suspect was found walking east through the parking lot. He was arrested without incident.

Rich Saah Anderson, a resident of Edmonton, has been charged with three counts of theft under $5000. The stolen goods totaled just over $4900.00 in value. Anderson is scheduled to appear in court on March 3, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.

The arrest highlights the growing issue of retail theft in the area. RCMP are urging anyone with additional information related to the thefts to come forward as their investigation continues. Anderson remains in custody pending his court appearance.
