Sturgeon County Man Charged After RCMP Seize Drugs and Firearm in Stony Plain

A Sturgeon County man is facing multiple charges after Alberta RCMP seized drugs and a firearm from a stolen vehicle in Stony Plain on April 22, 2025.

The RCMP Community Response Team, with help from Police Dog Services, Parkland RCMP, and the Parkland Drug Unit, located a stolen Dodge Ram. A search of the vehicle and nearby area uncovered 6.8 grams of fentanyl, 3.5 grams of methamphetamine, a bolt-action rifle, ammunition, and a stolen license plate.

Kevin Loughran, 35, and Alicia Flahr, 31, of Entwistle, were jointly charged with seven offences, including possession of stolen property, fentanyl and methamphetamine possession, and multiple firearm-related charges.

In addition to the joint charges, Flahr faces an extra charge for failing to comply with a release order. Loughran is also charged with possessing a firearm while prohibited and driving while prohibited.

Both suspects were remanded into custody. Flahr appeared in Alberta Court of Justice in Stony Plain on April 28, while Loughran appeared on April 30.

The RCMP emphasized that the seizure highlights their ongoing efforts to remove illegal drugs and weapons from Alberta communities. The investigation is ongoing.
