The first tip off of the Canadian Elite Basketball League is happening right here in Edmonton, with the Stingers hosting the Calgary Surge on Sunday at the Edmonton EXPO Centre. Tip-off is at 4 p.m.
Edmonton finished second in the Western Conference last year with a 13-7 record, beaten by the Vancouver Bandits, who finished 14-6. The Stingers advanced to the Western conference semi-finals, only to be beaten by Calgary. The Niagra River Lions took the championship.
The CEBL season has expanded this year, with a record high 120 games taking place this season.

After facing Calgary on Sunday, the Stingers enter a 3-game road trip, headed out east to face reigning champions Niagra, before headed to Saskatchewan, and finishing it off with a match against Vancouver. Edmonton’s next home game is on May 28th.
