An autopsy conducted on June 3 confirm the death of a man in a north central Edmonton fire over the weekend was a homicide.
Early in the morning on June 1, police were contacted by Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) after firefighters found a deceased male inside a residential house fire in the area of 120 Avenue and 77 Street.
An autopsy revealed that the death of 48-year-old Michael Jackman was a homicide. The cause of death is being withheld for investigative purposes.
Edmonton Police Services (EPS) are continuing to ask that anyone with information on the death or fire contact them at 780-423-4567. This includes security or dashcam footage from the area of 120 Avenue and 77 Street at approximately 1:30 to 2 a.m. on June 1.
