A 30-year-old Fort Saskatchewan man has died after a crane collapsed at a residential construction site in Saskatoon on Saturday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the site at about 9:40 a.m. on July 5. Saskatoon Police said a crane working at the site collapsed, injuring two workers. Both were taken to hospital, where the Fort Saskatchewan man was pronounced dead. His name has not been released, but police confirmed his next of kin have been notified.
The second worker, a 37-year-old man, remains in hospital with injuries.
Saskatchewan’s Occupational Health and Safety branch is investigating the cause of the collapse. No further details have been released.
