Alberta RCMP have laid charges in a 2020 homicide that took place in Chestermere, a city to the east of the Calgary.
The five-year investigation involved the death of Sahil Grewal, an 18-year-old resident of Chestermere who passed away on April 6, 2020 after an incident which took place 3 days earlier.
The investigation led to the RCMP arresting and charging 23-year-old Conrich resident Mohit Sandhu with First degree murder and attempted murder.
RCMP suspect that Sandhu had allegedly delivered a noxious substance to Grewal, which he consumed. It is alleged that the substance was also intended for 25-year-old Calgary resident Jaskaran Sidhu, who did not receive or consume the substance.
Sandhu is currently in custody on other matters.
