Alberta affected in salmonella salami recall

A salami product sold in Alberta is being recalled after it was discovered that it contains salmonella causing bacterias.

Certain batches of Soppressata Salami Sweet have been recalled in Alberta, Ontario and Quebec. Specifically, Rea branded Soppressata Salami Sweet with the code 5050 224.

The UPC for the product is 8 41571 04220 0.

The salami comes in various sizes. If you have a package of this salami, do not consume, use, sell, serve or distribute the product.

Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location of purchase.

If you think you have become sick from consuming a recalled product, contact your local healthcare provider.

Rea products were also recalled last month in a recall that affected three types of Genoa salami. Those recalls were also for links to salmonella contaminations.
