The Heartland Housing Foundation has received a grant of $8,840,000 for a new construction on the site of the Clover Bar Lodge Site.
The funding will cover approximately one third of the cost of the reconstruction, which is expected to start in June of next year assuming the rest of the funding can be secured. The current building on the property is expected to be demolished in Spring of next year.
The six-story building will provide 104 units of near-market priced housing.
The funding comes from Alberta’s affordable homes grant program, which has given over $200 million to programs. The Heartland Housing Foundation also received a land transfer for a new project in Fort Saskatchewan, as well as St. Albert receiving a grant for a similar project of $14.5 million, which you can read our story on here.
