EPS: Groat Road collision leaves one in serious condition

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) are investigating a serious car crash that happened on Groat Road over the weekend.

At around 10 a.m. on Saturday, police were dispatched to a single car collision that occurred on the road. According to police, the driver of a Mini Cooper was travelling northbound when they hit a tree on the east curb.

The 43-year-old male driver and a four-year-old child in the backseat sustained non-life-threatening injuries. However, the other passenger in the back of the car, a 43-year-old woman, is in life-threatening condition.

Police continue to investigate but have concluded that speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
