One dead after Highway 2 crash in Leduc

One person is dead after a crash on Highway 2 in Leduc.

According to police, two pedestrians were walking down the highway in the dark on Monday (Sep. 2) morning when they were struck by two separate vehicles.

One of the pedestrians was taken to hospital with serious injuries while the other pedestrian, a 48-year-old man, was found dead at the scene.

The highway was briefly closed down as officers investigated and cleared the scene. The road has since reopened.

The investigation continues as officers try to determine the cause of the crash.
